MEET THE DEVI - FAMILY EDITION
April 13th - 20th 2026
An invitation for families to immerse in a lived experience of yoga that includes children, rest, joy, and imperfection.
This is not a retreat where parents step away from family life - it is an experience where practice and the ashram way of being is woven through family life itself.
Set within the temples and lush landscapes of Sri Narayani Peedam, South India, this intimate family retreat opens a gentle space where the Divine Mother is felt through presence, play, prayer, and shared rhythms of daily life.
This is a journey of shared awakening - not striving, not fixing, not performing - but remembering together.
This is not for everyone.
It is for families who already feel the yes.
Families are gently guided through vibrant cultural experiences alongside simple yet powerful practices of meditation, mantra, ritual, and ceremony - revealing devotion as a living, joyful force, not a performance or ideal to reach.
Immersed in the heart of Sri Narayani Peedam and the community of Sri Sakthi Amma, families are invited into Seva (selfless service) as a natural expression of love in action.
Together, parents and children may take part in planting trees, serving food to devotees, supporting the local school, caring for animals, and contributing to the ashram’s ongoing charitable projects - in ways that are age-appropriate, gentle, and grounded. Children are welcomed into these experiences exactly as they are - curious, playful, tired, joyful, and real.
Parents will also have access to world-class Ayurvedic treatments, offering moments of restoration while remaining connected to family life.
At Peedam, spiritual practice extends beyond the meditation space and into everyday life - allowing both children and parents to experience devotion through presence, service, and shared rhythm.
In the field of Amma’s grace, the family becomes a living vessel of reverence, compassion, and remembrance - not through perfection, but through participation.
SRI SAKTHI NARAYANI AMMA - THE HEART OF OUR RETREAT
Sri Sakthi Narayani Amma, affectionately named Amma, is revered as a living Avatāra of The Divine Cosmic Mother, embodying the highest feminine energy, Narayani. As the founder of Sri Narayani Peedam and Sripuram Golden Temple in South India, Amma’s mission is to guide humanity back to dharma (righteous living) through devotion, spiritual practice, and selfless service. Amma opens her heart, her home and spiritual mecca for you to experience the depths of her teachings, weaving ancient Vedic wisdom with modern relevance, offering a path of both inner awakening and compassionate action in the world.
Karma Yoga as our framework
THE PATH OF SELFLESS SERVICE
Seva - selfless service - is a natural expression of love in action.
For families, it becomes a beautiful way to experience devotion together through simple, meaningful participation in daily life.
During the retreat, families are gently invited into shared acts of seva such as visiting the local school, helping prepare and serve meals, planting trees, caring for animals, and supporting the many devotees nourished daily at the temple - always in ways that are age-appropriate, optional, and grounded.
Your presence at Meet the Devi – Family Retreat naturally supports the ongoing work of Sri Narayani Peedam, including its temples, schools, healthcare, and community projects - simply through being here and participating as feels right for your family.
Narayani. She who contains Saraswati, Lakshmi, and Durga, manifests through the sacred action of Seva. She is the heart of devotion, the strength of discipline, the clarity of wisdom, and the grace of service, united in love for all beings.
We will gently be exploring these three powerful aspect of the Divine Cosmic Mother through easful wisdom sessions and practice for all to enjoy.
In Seva, we do not just serve, we remember: this path is not about becoming divine, but about reflecting Her, in every act.
This is service not as duty, but as devotion.
ABOUT THE FAMILY EXPERIENCE
Caroline has been travelling to the Peedam annually for many years, hosting groups, friends, and retreats.
This family retreat was born from her desire to bring her own children - and to share the joy, beauty, and magic of this place with other families.
For an accessible and family-friendly fee, Caroline will coordinate outings, cultural experiences, temple visits, ceremonies, and opportunities for participation - so families can relax into the journey without needing to organise or plan.
There will be plenty of free and unscheduled time to rest, explore, and simply be together as a family. Moving through the Peedam with a group of children brings a natural sense of play, connection, and shared rhythm.
Each day’s offerings are optional, guided by your family’s energy, capacity, and needs. Parents are encouraged to release rigid routines where possible, while staying deeply attuned to what supports their children best.
This is an invitation into presence - not perfection.
Into participation - not pressure.
Into a shared experience where devotion is lived through joy, curiosity, and togetherness.
LAKSHMI’S GOLDEN TEMPLE
The Golden Temple at Sripuram is more than a marvel of craftsmanship, it is a radiant embodiment of devotion, beauty, and sacred geometry. Conceived by Sri Sakthi Amma and adorned with over 1,500 kilograms of pure gold, it is the largest golden temple in India. Every surface, from dome to detail, reflects not just light, but intention.
Dedicated to Lakshmi - the goddess of abundance, love, beauty, and spiritual wealth - the temple is built in precise alignment with Vastu Shastra, the ancient science of sacred architecture. Vastu does more than shape structure; it channels cosmic order. Through its proportions, alignments, and elemental harmonies, the temple becomes a living yantra, concentrating and circulating divine energy.
Handcrafted by local artisans, every facet bears the imprint of devotion. As one walks the star-shaped path through lush gardens toward the sanctum, the geometry of the journey becomes a meditation. Each curve and corridor invites stillness, reverence, and radiant presence.
More than a destination, the Golden Temple is an experience - a mirror of the inner sanctum - awakening gratitude, remembrance, and the living presence of the divine feminine in all her forms.
